Brief

Microsoft UK invited a group of students to pitch ideas for a video to promote their annual Imagine Cup competition. The promo was to be directed at students, with the aim of inspiring them and encouraging them to enter the competition. After submitting a treatment, script, and client visuals, I was commissioned to create the video.

Solution

The idea behind 'Achieve What You Can Imagine' was to emphasise the importance of making great inventions rather than just imagining them. This is what separates Imagine cup entrants from everyone else because they make their ideas a reality. On top of that, the video also puts across the fact that ideas in the present have an impact on the future and that the future belongs to these aspiring young people.

The promo is intended to be generally inspiring, thought provoking, and uplifting. The finished video mixes hand-drawn elements with clean computer generated graphics, and is intended to be relaxed and friendly in tone.
